60,000 Feared to Loose Jobs in Philippines

The worst effect of the economic recession has yet to be felt in the Philippines and yet, just the other day, it was announced in the news that some 60,000 workers will loose their jobs during the first quarter of this year 2009. This effect was early seen as one of the biggest indsutries that put a business here in the Philippines already declared a total pull out of one of their biggest factories located in Cavite.

Japan Will Soon Need Caregivers and Nurses

Japan has expressed early this year an intention to get caregivers and nurses from the Philippines who would be interested to work in their country. To my surprise, I didn’t expect anything like this to be offered to the Philippines knowing that there is an existing problem according to Philippine nurses on the type of treatment that the Japan government has entered in the JPEPA agreement or so.

Yes, I’ve heard from a previous neighbor who now lives in United Kingdom for 3 years that people there are all very busy with working that even they would sometimes resort to hiring a nanny to work out taking care of the kids, 3 kids, that is.
